Broadway Musical Background

Although she is very young Júlia already has some experience on the stage. She started having voice lessons at the age of 6 at the Shore Music Academy in NJ after her parents realized she could sing. However, the first time she stepped on a real big stage was at Count Basie in Red Bank, NJ where she participated in The Little Mermaid Junior Production. Júlia had a very small role, but it was on that stage she realized her passion for singing and acting. Matilda The Musical was her next Broadway production, followed by Disney’s The Lion King where she played Nala, one of the main female voices of the show.

Winner of The Voice Kids Portugal

Determination is Júlia’s middle name! Ever since she was 6 she was begging her parents to participate on The Voice. Being that she was so young her parents decided to wait a little longer. When they finally allowed her to participate, Júlia crossed the Atlantic and stayed with her maternal grandparents for 5 months so she could participate in the TV program. Eventually she finished the school year in the same high school where her parents studied before they left from Portugal more than 20 years ago.

Saved by the Portuguese superstar Fernando Daniel during the battle rounds, Júlia went on to become one of the youngest girls to win this singing competition at the age of 12.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest
France November 2023

Júlia will proudly carry the Portuguese flag in this competition. The only thing she wishes is to make all the Portuguese proud of her participation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in November 2023. She is happy to represent not only the Portuguese who live in Portugal, but also the Portuguese communities who live abroad, like her parents and all those who left their homeland looking for a better life.
